Marian's Dumpit Cake

1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple (undrained)
1 can (20 oz) cherry pie filling (or whole cranberry sauce)
1 package yellow or white cake mix, dry
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine.
Grease 12 x 9 x 2 pan. Dump undrained pineapple into pan, spread evenly.
Dump in pie filling, spread evenly over pineapple. Dump dry cake mix onto
cherry layer, spread evenly. Sprinkle nuts evenly on top. Drizzle butter
over all. Bake at 350 for about 55 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
