Popcorn Balls
5 quarts popped corn
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup Karo syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp vinegar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vinegar
Sort popped corn to remove unpopped corn and put into deep pan. Boil Karo, sugar and
water together until it forms a ball in cold water. Add salt and vinegar and boil on
high heat until it reaches a hard cracking stage. Remove from stove and stir in vanilla.
Pour syrup slowly over popcorn, mixing it well with a spoon. Rub oil on hands, and form
popcorn into balls with hands. When popcorn balls are cold,wrap in waxed paper.
